 +This section of the site is more important if you are planning on judging a competition as it is the information you provide here which will be used by players to ensure that their entries will run on your hardware.

 +The screenshot about illustrates the machine list which is used to maintain the list of machines you have available to you for judging.

 +==== Add Machine ====
 +
 +To add a machine, click the link 'Add machine...' (visible in the bottom right hand corner of the screenshot).  This will present you with a form where you can provide information about a machine.

 +The information collected is as follows:-

 +| Machine identifier  | This is the name by which the machine will be known to other users (the only time your machine information will be available is if you chose to share it with users by way of the permalinks or when you act as a judge for a competition, when the information about your machines will be made public.  |
 +| Operating system  | Self explanatory  |
 +| Processor  | Details about your CPU.  e.g. Athlon X64 X2 5800+  |
 +| Clock speed  | The clock speed of your CPU in MHz.  e.g. 3000 = 3GHz  |
 +| Total processing cores  | Whilst it may be obvious how many cores your CPU has, it's best to be explicit and provide the total number in this field  |
 +| Memory capacity  | This is your main memory capacity in MB. e.g. 2048 = 2GB  |
 +| Memory type/speed  | Whilst not necessarily crucial, details about the performance of your machines memory can be helpful.  If you can, provide the full specification.  e.g. PC3200 DDR 400MHz  |
 +| Chipset manufacturer  | Provide the manufacturer of your graphics card chipset here.  e.g. Nvidia  |
 +| Chipset model  | Provide details of your graphics card chipset here.  e.g. 2 x GeForce 7600 GTS SLI  |
 +| Memory capacity  | This is the memory capacity of your graphics card.  e.g. 2 x 256MB  |
 +| Sound capabilities  | Provide basic details about your sound capabilities.  e.g. Onboard 5.1 stereo.  |
 +| Other hardware  | Here you can provide details about any other hardware which may be relevant.  For example, if you have a Playstation joy pad connected, include that.  |

 +==== Edit Machine ====

 +If you change your machine spec, or you notice a mistake, you can edit the machine at any time.  To start the edit process click the 'Edit' icon (which looks like this - {{:media:icon_edit.png|Edit icon (A spanner)}}) in the Actions column of the machine list.

 +==== Delete Machine ====

 +If you scrap your machine, then you can simply delete it.  To do this, click the 'Delete' icon (which looks like this - {{:media:icon_delete.png|Delete icon (A dustbin)}}) in the Actions column of the machine list.

 +==== Activate/Deactivate Machine ====

 +When you add a new machine, it will be active immediately.  When a machine is active, it is visible to others (by way of it's permalink) and to entrants of competitions you are judging.

 +If you want to temporarily remove a machine from your machine list without deleting it, you can deactivate it.  When you want it to be visible again, simply re-activate it again.

 +| {{:media:icon_poweroff.png|Power off icon (Red power symbol)}} | When this icon is visible, the machine is active.  Clicking this will deactivate the machine and prevent it from being visible to others.  |

 +As a user, you can also use this page to store a list of your machines.  You may find this useful if you want to share your machine specifications with other people.

 +When you create a new machine, the system allocates a key to it.  Using a specially formatted link which includes this key, you can post a link to a page which displays the information you have provided about that machine.

 +==== Permalink ====

 +If you want to share your machines details with others, the 'Permalink' link provides a mechanism for you to do this.
 +
 +To use the machines permalink, copy the link location from the 'Permalink' link.  Share it by pasting it into emails, forums posts. etc. (anywhere you could normally post a URL).

 +Anyone who follows the link will be taken to a page which provides details of the machine to which it relates.

 +==== Reset permalink key ====
 +
 +Now you've shared your machine details with someone, if you don't want them to be able to see it anymore, you can change the permalink key.  To do this simply click the 'Reset permalink key' link.

 +<note warning>This will invalidate EVERY link you have pasted previously, so if you still want some of them to work, you mustn't use the key reset facility</note>
